Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on March 8.
The Prime Minister thanked Germany for its assistance and support to the Kurdistan Region, especially in the fight against ISIS. He also expressed the Kurdistan Region’s appreciation to the German Parliament for recognizing the massacre of the Yezidis as genocide.
The German Foreign Minister expressed her pleasure to visit the Kurdistan Region and pointed to the important position of the region in the region and expressed Germany’s readiness to further develop relations with the Kurdistan Region.
The importance of holding the Kurdistan parliamentary elections at the right time this year, the reforms of the ninth cabinet in the field of economic diversification and attention to the agricultural sector and export of domestic products to foreign markets Their locations, maintaining security and stability in the Kurdistan Region and fighting terrorism in general were other topics of discussion.
Prime Minister Barzani and Foreign Minister Baerbock answered questions from the media at a joint press conference.
Ms. Baerbock also met with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, on the same day.
